The U.S. Department of Labor published a Final Rule that clarifies and expands an eligible employee’s ability to take unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The Final Rule, which became effective March 8, 2013, broadens the legal right to take unpaid leave to care for certain family members who serve in the military and extends such leave to care for family members who are veterans. This seminar will discuss these changes and how they are practically applied by employers.
