CED 259 701 Instructors: Maria and Tom Cesta Bolero is a slow, beautiful, expressive dance that is somewhat of a hybrid. Bolero combines the dance patterns of Rumba, Tango (contra body movement) and the rise and fall action of the Waltz. Bolero is danced to music in 4/4 time, at a tempo slower than Rumba. Bolero is the slowest of all the American Style Rhythm dances and is characterized by smooth gliding movement, dramatic arm styling and a romantic feel. Partners are encouraged but not required, adults only.
