The 1st Annual Fishing for Freedom Bass Tournament is set for July 25 - July 26, 2014 to help support Carthage Area Hospital and the USO Fort Drum and be held at Bonnie Castle Resort in Alexandria Bay, NY. This tournament will pay homage to Active Military by celebrating freedom and outdoor recreation in Northern New York, and to benefit Carthage Area Hospital and USO Fort Drum.
Proceeds from the event will help purchase an enhanced security system and intubation system for the Emergency Department at Carthage Area Hospital, as well as a EZ-IO: http://www.vidacare.com/EZ-IO/Index.aspx.
With the collaboration of Army Bass Anglers, we have the opportunity to bring some of the best anglers in the country to the majestic thousand islands. Although an amateur event, this is a professional grade tournament that will draw crowds from all over the state and beyond. An estimated 500 to 900 fishermen and 1000’s of spectators are expected to participate.
This nationally televised event that will kick off Friday evening with a BBQ banquet for all registered anglers and Active Duty Military. A meet and greet with Cody Roberson, Army Bass Anglers President will take place at this time as well. Anglers and families can enjoy fellowship and check out the competition. The tournament will begin bright and early the following morning. The grounds of Bonnie Castle will provide onlookers with incredible scenery as well as an opportunity to visit local vendors and participate in other activities.
