¡Bocón! is a fable filled with song and elements of magical realism to tell the story of twelve-year-old Miguel who flees a repressive military regime in Guatemala for Los Angeles. Miguel loses his voice when his parents are taken and begins a metaphorical journey to find his voice. Along the way he meets up with La Llorona, the legendary ?Weeping Woman? of Mexican and Central American mythology. The dialogue is in both English and Spanish but written to be easily understood by English speakers. Each performance is ASL Shadow Interpreted for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community.
