TITLE: Electronic and Computer Technology Instructor
LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment at Bohlen Technical Center, Watertown, New York
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide instruction exploring careers in the electronics and computer technology. Duties include:
? Collaborating with colleagues to integrate academics and career and financial management into the course curriculum.
? Prepare students for continued education and entry level positions in the Information Technology industry.
? Networking with local managed service providers (MSPs) and IT departments of a variety of businesses and government to ensure the program stays current and to maintain relationships for possible student internship sites through annual advisory committee and other meetings.
? Maintain the instructor's own current certification in the IT certifications that students will be earning.
? Maintain a functioning lab environment with appropriate software and hardware to meet the learning needs of the students, including spare/practice parts and drives.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess NYS Certification in Electrical-Electronic Technology or be eligible for a Transitional A Certificate. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must possess at least the minimum requirements per NYS Education which is a combination of experience in the field, education, and required workshops and tests.
SALARY: $52,249-$59,314. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association.
