TITLE: New Vision/Medical Careers Instructor
LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment at
Carthage Area Hospital, Carthage, New York / Bohlen Technical Center,
Watertown, New York
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a team of educators to provide instruction exploring careers in the health career cluster for 12th graders. Duties include:
? Collaborating with colleagues to integrate academics, literacy, and technology with high school health careers
? Preparing students for continued education for careers in the healthcare industry
? Networking with hospital and medical staff to establish and monitor student rotations in the various departments
? Meeting / planning with local industry advisory committee for continuous improvement of the program
QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must possess NYS Certification in one of the Health Occupations; Dual Certification in an academic area preferred or eligibility for a Transitional A Certificate. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must possess at least the minimum requirements per NYS Education which is a combination of experience in the field, education, and required workshops and tests.
SALARY: $52,249-$59,314. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association.
