Administrative / AP Assistant

Purcell Construction is a General Contracting, Construction Management and Design-Build firm. Our corporate office is located in Watertown, NY with a regional office in Richmond, VA. We are a well-established organization with a broad range of experience. We have completed public and private projects in housing, higher education, healthcare, and historical renovation. We are looking for a well-rounded individual to join our team at our Watertown office.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task and easily change direction on a moment’s notice.   Front office clerical support is a critical part of this position, the ideal candidate will have some accounting knowledge but also willing to perform general office clerical duties and contract support management.  

Responsibilities include subcontract management, including maintaining subcontractor compliance to project regulations, some accounting functions, including accounts payable and payroll entry, clerical support, and assisting project managers.  General office duties include assisting office personnel with day to day tasks including generating documents, filing, use of office equipment and providing clerical support to Project Management staff as needed.

The appropriate candidate should have an A.S. in business, accounting, marketing or equivalent experience. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe is desirable. The ability to learn other software programs a must. Strong people and communication skills are critical. This position is full-time, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but we will consider applicants who can work part-time and transition into a full-time position.
