Assistant Professor of Nursing

Job Description:
Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, is conducting a search for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Nursing to begin August 24, 2020. Reporting to the Nursing Department Chair, responsibilities include classroom, skills laboratories, lab simulation, and clinical instruction for medical-surgical nursing, student advising, and committee work. Successful candidates will teach 18 contact hours per semester in both day and weekend program options.
Requirements:
Required:  New York State RN license, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and enrolled in a Master’s degree in Nursing program, with at least one half of the program requirements completed.
Preferred:  A Master’s degree in Nursing; strong communication skills; computer literacy; experience in team teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development; ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds; ability to integrate critical thinking strategies into the teaching/learning process; and the ability to interact with external entities such as clinical sites.
