EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
TITLE: Building Maintenance Mechanic
LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES (Lewis County Locations).
RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES: The Building Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of
skilled mechanical and other maintenance, repair and construction related
tasks which may be performed indoors or outdoors under adverse working

QUALIFICATIONS: Three years in general building construction, maintenance, or repair in
one or more of the standard trades such as plumbing, electrical work, etc.
OR
Six years of experience assisting in general building construction, maintenance or
repair in one or more of the standard trades such as plumbing, electrical work, etc.
OR
An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits
of the above. Experience with HVAC is preferred. Trade/technical school or college
preferred but not required. CDL Class B Driver License preferred but not required.
Must meet civil service requirements but no test required. Appointees will be required
to possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State or otherwise
demonstrate their ability to meet the transportation needs of the job.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: This is a 12-month position with a salary range of $45,000-$50,000.
Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current
handbook. Health insurance, which includes vision & prescription coverage,

deferred annuities, employee assistance program, and generous vacation, sick
and personal day policies
