Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor- Part-Time

LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, Globe Building, Watertown, NY 13601

SCHEDULE: Evening class that runs from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, totaling 75 course hours per semester.

STARTING DATE: September 1, 2026

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $45.00 per hour. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the BOCES Professional Association. RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: The CNA Instructor is responsible for preparing students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a variety of healthcare settings. Through classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and clinical supervision, the instructor ensures students meet New York State certification requirements and are prepared for successful careers as Certified Nursing Assistants.
• Teach essential caregiving skills, including vital signs monitoring, infection control, patient safety, communication techniques, and assistance with daily living activities.
• Preparing students for the Certified Nursing Assistant exam, post-secondary education and/or employment as a nursing assistant.
• Serve as a role model for professionalism, ethical conduct, and compassionate patient-centered care.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• NYS Registered Nurse with a current license required.
• One year of Nursing Home Experience as an RN, minimum two years as a nurse.
• New York State Teacher Certification to teach Nurse’s Assistant or Practical Nursing or eligibility for Transitional A Certificate. Candidates applying for a Transitional A Certificate must possess at least the minimum requirements per NYS Education which is a combination of experience in the field, education, and required workshops and tests.
• Teaching experience preferred.
