Educational Planner of Veterans Services

Jefferson Community College, Watertown, New York, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System, is conducting a search for a full-time Educational Planner of Veterans Services.  The full-time Educational Planner of Veterans Services will be responsible for academic advising, educational planning, career and transfer advising, and retention support for the student military population at Jefferson. Serving student veterans, military, and dependents, this position will ensure the implementation of program activities and services designed to enhance their educational experiences. This position provides seamless and exceptional service through personalized support and attention that fosters student success and engagement.  This position works closely with external agencies at the state and federal levels whose work affects the lives of veterans, military, and their family members.
Overnight travel, evening and weekend commitments will be required.
 
Required: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of appropriate professional experience.
Applicants must interact and communicate effectively with diverse populations, foster inclusion, and promote equal access and treatment for groups traditionally under-represented in higher education.
 
Preferred: Master's Degree in Counseling, Higher Education, Educational Administration or related area.  A minimum of three years of experience in program planning, budget formulation, and management.  Experience in counseling, college admissions, advising or student financial aid is highly desirable.
