Health and Safety Coordinator

LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, Watertown, New York

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: This position is responsible for the development and implementation of various programs, procedures, and protocols to provide for public school building safety and industrial hygiene services (i.e., indoor air quality, radon, asbestos, and lead testing) in component districts. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Schools with guidelines for work established in policies and procedures of the State Education Department, Department of Environmental Conservation, Environmental Protection Agency, and Occupational Safety and Health Act. QUALIFICATIONS: (A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered four year college with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental, chemical, or health related field and two years of experience in occupational safety, environmental technology or related field;
OR
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college with an associate’s degree in engineering, environmental, chemical, or health related field and four years of experience in occupational safety, environmental technology or related field;
OR
(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $65,000-$72,000. Commensurate with experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement.
