Member Specialist

The Member Specialist position is an office based (35 hour/week) position located in Watertown, NY.  This team member must be customer service oriented (in-person, telephone, and written skills are necessary), able to work independently, and have basic math skills.   Computer literacy is essential, especially in the areas of Windows, Internet applications, and common word processing programs.   Experience in programs such as Microsoft Excel, Publisher, Access, QuickBooks, and/or equivalent programs is a plus.    Familiarity with video conferencing programs like Zoom, a real estate background, and basic accounting skills are helpful but not necessary.   Please email or mail a cover letter and resume.
 
Our professional team consists of the Executive Officer and 2 Member Specialists.   We also have a number of volunteers, who are also members, that we work with on an ongoing basis.
 
Note: The Jefferson-Lewis Board of REALTORS® has a contract to provide Business Services to the membership of the St. Lawrence County Board of REALTORS®.   Both Member Specialists will be trained to assist members of both Associations.
 
Duties are as outlined below.
 
Duties
 
1. Maintain the Board office, its facilities, and services to all members.
 
2. Maintain the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for two Boards in conjunction with the governing committees and the MLS vendor.   This includes monitoring of listings, uploading pictures, etc.
 
3. Maintain and update the membership database on an as needed basis.
 
4. Attend virtual and in-person meetings as needed. 
 
5. Familiarize self with daily functions of the office that are pertinent to daily Board functions for both Associations.
 
6. Work with agents on the Supra Electronic Lockbox System (will be taught).
 
7. Upload documents/pictures to MLS (as needed basis).
 
8. Monitor inventory and office supplies replacing when necessary.
 
9. Open and distribute mail.  Log all receipts in the cash receipt journal and in the computer accounting program.  File in appropriate folders.
 
10. Serve as back up to other office personnel to include cross training.
 
11. Be available for other duties as assigned by Executive Officer
 
Skills needed:
- Ability to learn
 
- Positive attitude
 
- Computer Familiarity (Windows preferred) to include MS Word or WordPerfect (one or the other required).  In addition, it is helpful to have familiarity with programs like Excel, Publisher, QuickBooks (or similar financial programs), Google forms and sheets, Video Conferencing, Social Media, and other computer programs.  
 
- Familiarity with Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence County geography.
 
- Customer service skills
 
- Good Communication Skills
 
General Work hours between 8 and 4:30 (negotiable) Monday-Friday (35 hours/week generally) with occasional evening or weekends possible.
 
Pay range $17.00 - $18.00/hour provisional for 90 days with possible increase after that.
 
Anticipated Start Date is Monday June 3, 2024.
