The Children’s Home of Jefferson County (CHJC) is dedicated to “creating opportunities to enhance lives, one relationship at a time.” With over 165 years of service, CHJC has been a cornerstone of support in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties, providing a comprehensive range of services that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
Our programs include foster care, behavioral health services, youth programs, school-based clinics, and community support initiatives, all designed to empower those we serve. From offering stability and care to children and families in need to operating innovative resources like the SoZo Teen Center, CHJC is committed to making a lasting difference.
Our mission is upheld through our core values:
Permanency: Creating stable, long-term solutions that foster security and well-being.
Compassion: Providing empathetic, respectful, and personalized care to every individual.
Integrity: Upholding transparency, accountability, and ethical practices in all that we do.
Excellence: Striving for the highest standards in the services we provide.
Stewardship: Managing resources responsibly to maximize impact and ensure sustainability.
CHJC serves over 3,000 community members annually, working tirelessly to bring hope, healing, and opportunity to those in need.
