LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES with initial assignment in component districts throughout Jefferson County
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
? Assist with instruction and assessment under direction of the teacher
? Assist with preparing lessons and materials
? Employ effective management practices to support diverse student management needs and an environment conducive to learning
? Engage in continuing professional staff development activities
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess:
? NYS Teacher Assistant Certification
? Basic requirements: high school diploma or GED, Child Abuse workshop, School Violence workshop, fingerprinting clearance through NYSED, and Assessment of Teacher Assistant Skills Test (ATAS)
? Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematics
? Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction
? Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
? Excellent written and oral communication skills
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $21,000 - $21,063. Commensurate with certification/experience in keeping with the current negotiated agreement with the CSEA.
