TITLE: Transportation Job Skills Trainer/Instructor – Adult Education
Twelve Month Position
LOCATION: Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, Watertown, New York
Administration Building
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Schedules, teaches, and supervises New York State Education Department (NYSED) mandated training programs for school bus drivers, monitors, and attendants throughout New York State, including behind-the-wheel instruction. Assists with maintaining and updating Article 19-A driver qualification files to ensure compliance with DMV audits. This position also requires driving a school bus and assisting with trips as needed. Evening training sessions are available with additional compensation provided.
QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or a high school equivalency diploma. Possession of a New York State CDL B with passenger and school bus endorsements. A 19-A Examiner and/or a School Bus Driver Instructor preferred but not required.
Attainment of Job Skills Training Certification which requires fingerprint clearance prior to date of hire, DASA Training and SAVE Workshop, Child Abuse Identification Workshop, and application through TEACH, the trainings/workshops can be completed on-line.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: $38,000-$41,000 annual salary. Commensurate with experience in keeping with the current agreement.
