Sign on Bonus - $2,000 - Payable $500 after 90 days, $500 after 6 months, and $1000 after 1 year. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work - Full-Time; Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm. Must be flexible to the needs of the program, which may require evenings for various school events or training.

 

Qualifications - BS/BA with at least 12 credits in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field with three years’ experience/or an Associate’s degree with 10 years’ experience working in a Day Care setting or programs governed by OCFS. Must also have one year of full-time teaching/classroom management experience in a day care center or early childhood program. One year experience in Special Education preferred; 1 year experience in management required. Valid New York State Driver’s License

Summary/Objective - In conjunction with the Preschool Administrative Team, direct the planning, development, and execution of preschool programing.

 

Essential Functions - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. In conjunction with Clinical Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator, directs the planning, development, and execution of preschool programming
  2. Responsible for the direct supervision of daily operations to include daycare, UPK, Special Education Programing and wrap around programing.
  3. In conjunction with Clinical Coordinator and Special Education Coordinator, ensures the adherence to all regulations, policies and procedures of NYSED, NYSDOH, OCFS, and the Arc Jefferson-St. Lawrence and other collaborative partners.
  4. Serve as the liaison for families to include dissemination of program information, conducting tours and completing new enrollments and re-enrollments.
  5. Serve as the administrator of the Universal Prekindergarten, ensuring compliance and engagement in all requirements, which includes budget monitoring and cost effective programming, meeting attendance and submission of all reports.
  6. Serve as the liaison with the OCFS licenser and communicates with the licenser as needed
  7. Maintain all necessary OCFS records to ensure renewal certifications are completed in a timely manner, ensure ongoing staff training, coordinate professional development and ensure that staff certifications and/or licenses are current
  8. Responsible for ensuring program participation in QualitystarsNY to include participation monthly meetings, maintaining organizational ASPIRE profile, assisting staff to create, update and maintain personal profiles and ensure completion of all documentation for recertification.
  9. Knowledge with the preschool Creative Curriculum framework, experience providing professional development and facilitation to staff, as well as continuous follow up with instructional strategies and lesson planning.
  10. Responsible for being the program hiring manager including the review of applications, scheduling and conducting interviews for vacant positions
  11. Responsible for the continuous monitoring and implementation of staff schedules based on the current needs of the program and implementing changes to operate in a fiscally responsible manner
  12. Conduct monthly staff meetings to disseminate information and program updates
  13. Serves as an administrator of iCentral school software and communication platforms such as Class Dojo
  14. Responsible for utilizing internal payroll system (Paycom) to monitor and approve time and attendance for all assigned employees for bi-weekly payroll
  15. Provide direct oversight of tuition agreements for daycare and wrap around programming for accuracy of billing.
  16. Responsible for approval of program purchase of equipment and supplies in a fiscally responsible manner that aligns with the program budget.
  17. Assist with the process of updating the department’s functional plans and associated forms, and handbooks, and policies and procedures.
  18. Be familiar with all software associated with the school for billing, documentation, and attendance.
  19. Complete staff evaluations and monitor the performance of all employees in the program.
  20. Promote positive morale, facilitate continuous learning, promote staff retention and reinforce positive partnerships throughout the community
  21. Meet regularly with the Director of Program, School Administrator, Special Education Coordinator and Clinical Coordinator to discuss any developments or problems within the department.

Supervisory Responsibility - Supervises the Licensed Practical Nurse, Administrative Assistant and all Teachers and Teacher’s Aides.

 

Travel - Minimal travel is required between counties for various meetings.

 

Work Environment - The position operates out of the Bright Beginnings Early Learning Center and may require lifting of children, playing with students on the floor or outside. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Wage Range - $58,458-$66,057/Year, Based on education and experience
