Position Type/Expected Hours Of Work - Part-time up to 27.5 hours per week, including some holiday work, depending on needs related to the contract. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday; 5:00pm-10:30pm.
Qualifications - Experience in janitorial work preferred. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Must be capable of moving up and down stairs without difficulty. Must be capable of working on feet for extended periods of time. Must provide your own transportation to work. Must be able to read and identify MSD sheets and various chemical labels and markings. Must be willing to learn proper use of cleaning agents and usage of various supplies. Must be willing to learn proper maintenance and safety features of both light custodial equipment. Must undergo a criminal background check.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance - Authorized to work in the United States and pass all background clearances.
Summary/Objective - Perform general cleaning tasks and maintain work areas as assigned.
Essential Functions -
- Use high and low speed maintenance equipment as assigned.
- Use carpet cleaning equipment as assigned.
- Trash removal.
- Sweep/mop/dust/vacuum as assigned.
- Perform restroom disinfectant and cleaning as assigned.
- Wash windows.
- Monitor use of equipment and report any malfunctions or problems to supervisor.
- Practice Safety First.
Work Environment - This position operates in all areas of the Jefferson County Office Building, Human Services Building, and Old Courthouse.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 50 pounds.
